Forgiven of Immense Sin
I will exalt you, Lord, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit. Psalms 30:1-3
We have heard it said
Forgiven much, loves much
That is true
Jesus directly pointed out the inverse of that. He did not even, in this case, seem to state that as a searing judgment as it sometimes is in fact; rather as a simple truth. And that it is as well.
Whoever has been forgiven little, loves little.
Our words and actions, yes our very lives show how much we love or do not love, how much or how little we have been forgiven.
How much have you been forgiven? Our very life already shows that.
Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.” Luke 7:47
