Qahal & Kaleó

This Way is all about the Call.

For The Sake of the Call

Qahal is the Hebrew word for assembly,  congregation. Those called together.
Qoheleth is the related Hebrew word for teacher. The one who calls out.

Kaleó is the koine Greek word for call. The word means to summon.
Ekklesia is the koine Greek word for assembly, congregation. From the words ek– meaning out and kaleó. Those who are called out.

In John 14-16, we come to the koine Greek word paraklétos, meaning advocate, attorney. From the words para– meaning beside and again kaleó. One who is called to stand beside, to aid, support and defend.

But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. John 16:7

While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he asked, “Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David? David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, declared: “ ‘The LORD (YHWH) said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet.” ’ Mark 12:35‭-‬36
