Isaiah 16
In love a throne will be established; in faithfulness a man will sit on it—one from the house of David—one who in judging seeks justice and speeds the cause of righteousness.
Isaiah 16:5
Who is this man?
Do you know his name?
Surely I am only a brute, not a man; I do not have human understanding. I have not learned wisdom, nor have I attained to the knowledge of the Holy One. Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Whose hands have gathered up the wind? Who has wrapped up the waters in a cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is the name of his son? Surely you know!
Proverbs 30:2-4
Isaiah wrote the first passage above about this man over 2500 years ago.
Agur wrote this second passage about this man about 3000 years ago. In learning the ways of God, Agur became aware of his own ignorance.
The same is true of us when we also truly learn the ways of God. We become aware of our own ignorance, and that is when God is able to give us a glimpse of His great wisdom, exactly like He did to both Agur & Isaiah as we read these passages.
So who is this man?
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.
1 Timothy 2:5
