Wide Angle Lens

A Broader Picture Begins to Appear

ISAIAH

Focus begins fully centered on Israel in chapters 1-5. Then there is a vision of Yahweh on His throne in chapter 6. After this, the focus shifts to God’s chosen agent of punishment and His chosen Man of Deliverance, Messiah. The shift here becomes clear as a shift in focus. The early focus settings show God’s plan as being focused only on Israel. Once the focus is adjusted to a wider angle, it becomes clear that His plan will involve the other nations.

This is the broad view of God’s plan. His plan begins with Israel. Then, through His chosen agents, through His Chosen One, the picture expands from a narrow angle to a panoramic lens. This is the progression through God’s written WORD, from old to new. And this is the same progression also through Isaiah, which we have seen can be observed like a micro Bible. This is the view through the wide angle lens: first to the Jews, then to the nations.
