-What do these 3 have in common?
—
When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. He answered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.”
Mark 10:10-12
—
These are the words of JESUS…but they are not quite as popular as J316
The response today to these words of JESUS is similar to the response then to JESUS own words about eating his flesh and drinking his blood.
—
On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?” John 6:60
—
This itself is exactly what these JESUS students said about divorce & remarriage as Matthew recorded.
And Mark himself continued in that same passage above to record Peter’s recounting of these JESUS students response and interaction with JESUS regarding earthly riches.
—
Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!” The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
Mark 10:23-27
1. Is LCS remarriage actually marriage?
YES, absolutely 100%
It is an adulterous marriage, and the one who desires to follow JESUS must follow Him by remaining faithful in the present situation as the servant of all, denying themselves and following him. This addresses all sides of LCS remarriage, both the consideration of it while single and the living out of it after first coming to JESUS. All else is of the evil one.
2. Is adultery marriage?
No
Adultery in itself is not marriage. But there are those who take adultery into marriage.
But we have that copy of the earliest first century letter from AD 48 which clearly instructs us to abstain from all such, even any hint of porneia, let alone moicheia.
“That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication [porneia]: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.” Acts 15:29
Marriage is good and from God and because of this it must be kept free from porneia and moicheia.

Classic blunders with no pause, not even apparently recognizing this blatant error
Neither Matthew verse says ANYTHING about permitting anything
Both specifically declare committing adultery in those verses
People are so confounded by the so called exception clauses that they do not even look at what these 2 verses say
Jesus gave NO permission for divorce and NO permission for remarriage
Rather, He declares that a man who divorces his wife…causes His wife to commit adultery, that is except logou porneia, in which case he clearly is not the cause of that. And, anyone who divorces his wife except logou porneia and marries another commits adultery.
So a man who divorces a faithful wife causes her to become an adultress, and any man who divorces his wife for any reason, if he marries another, he also becomes a adulterer.

Taken together Matthew 5:32 & 19:9 simply give both sides of the reality of divorce causing adultery, for the wife and for the husband. And this complete picture is acknowledged by 19:10
Divorce makes a man guilty of causing his faithful wife to become an adultress.
Divorce & remarriage in all situations makes a man an adulterer.
But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. Matthew 5:32
And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.” The disciples said to him, “If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry.” Matthew 19:9-10
