2 Peter 3
Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. 2 Peter 3:1
Reread the entirety of this letter commonly called 2 Peter and you will see that the writer was quite likely studying Isaiah 14 among other things. From the very beginning of his letter there are multiple references suggesting this as well as the fact that he was apparently responding to false teachers falsely teaching things from the prophets. He was doing this while simultaneously encouraging followers of JESUS to hold fast to the true faith and to right understanding and application of these passages and of all the teachings of Christ, the apostles and all the prophets.
This then is what we must continue to do as well, and this requires great diligence both in studying and especially in living according to the WORD.

Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. Jude 1:3
