Psalm 64
The righteous will rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in him; all the upright in heart will glory in him!
Psalms 64:10
Do we just ignore verses 1-9 and go to verse 10? I will go straight to verse 10 and let some others chime in on verses 1-9. As for me and my house, we will rejoice in Yahweh!
The past few days have also been a reminder to me that all these psalms are inherently songs. So, while we primarily focus on the content, as we should (just as when we talk with young people about the importance of the lyrics of what they listen to), it’s noteworthy to remember that there is still also the music itself.
The music itself is also an amazing gift from God, especially when we consider all the ways in which everything about singing also brings together those who continue daily seeking hard after JESUS as we walk this pilgrim way.
Here is an otherwise unknown rendition of an equally rarely known old hymn by a widely known modern title.
