Do you need to let go??
Today’s Scripture
Genesis 12:1, NLT
The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.”
Today’s Word
When Abraham left his country, the Lord had told him to take only his immediate family, but he added his nephew Lot. It wasn’t long before there was strife and conflict between his herders and Lot’s herders, and they had to separate with Lot taking the better land. Later Lot and his family were taken captive, and Abraham had to rescue them, risking his own safety and spending all his time and energy on problems he never should have had in the first place.
Difficulties come whenever we aren’t willing to leave people whom God tells us to leave. Perhaps it’s a friend whom you’ve known is not good for you. Now you’re dealing with unnecessary trouble and heartache. What’s interesting is the name Lot means “veil or covering.” When you leave what you’re supposed to leave, the veil will come off. You’ll see things that you’ve never seen–new friends, new opportunities, new talents, new levels. Are you holding on to someone or something God is telling you to let go of?
Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for making it so plain that I need to be careful about whom I associate with and allow to influence me. Help me to be bold to evaluate and make sure that I’m not allowing someone or something to keep a veil over my life. I will take responsibility to make the necessary changes. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Activate His Favor
Today’s Scripture
Nehemiah 2:8
And because the gracious hand of my God was on me, the king granted my requests.
Today’s Word
In the Scripture, Nehemiah had a dream to rebuild the walls around Jerusalem. They had been torn down, and the people living there were unprotected. This dream seemed impossible. Nehemiah was living in exile a thousand miles from Jerusalem, working as a cupbearer to the king. He didn’t have any influence, connections, resources, or funding, but when God gives you a dream, He lines up everything you need. When Nehemiah asked the king for permission to go, for protection in his travels, and for all the supplies and money for the project, the king granted his request. When you face situations that seem impossible, do as Nehemiah did and start declaring, “The gracious hand of God is on my life.” The dreams that God has put in your heart, you need to speak favor over them. Those problems that look impossible, declare that the favor of God is turning them around. His favor will help you defy the odds. The question is, are you going to activate this favor?
Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for the dreams You put in my heart. Thank You that You’ve equipped me and empowered me to accomplish all of Your promises, even the ones that seem impossible. I declare that Your gracious hand of favor is helping to take me to new levels. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Give Honor
Today’s Scripture
Romans 13:7
Give to everyone what you owe them…if honor, then honor.
Today’s Word
In the Old Testament, God commanded His people to put down “memorial stones” as reminders of past national victories. Every time they or future generations passed by a memorial, they would remember the mighty things God had done and honor the people who gave their lives for others. All throughout the Scripture, we see that God blesses an attitude of honor. To show honor simply means that you give respect and recognition to others with your attitude, actions, and words.
This past weekend, we recognized Memorial Day as a time when we honor all the brave men and women who have given their lives in service for this country. As we remember them, let’s honor the gift of freedom they have given us by saying thank you with our actions and choosing to love and honor others. Let’s also honor all those who are serving in our armed forces and their families who are sacrificing so much today. Let’s pray for God’s peace, protection, and provision over every area of their lives.
Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for this special day to honor the men and women who have given their lives to secure and keep our freedom as a nation. Thank You that You are with our soldiers and their families wherever they go. Protect and provide for them, and help them to know Your peace that passes understanding. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

It’s not just for you
Today’s Scripture
Daniel 3:28
Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants!”
Today’s Word
In Daniel 3, when three Hebrew teenagers wouldn’t bow to King Nebuchadnezzar’s golden idol, they were thrown into a fiery furnace. They should have perished instantly, but they were miraculously spared. After the teenagers came out unharmed, King Nebuchadnezzar, who had been against them and everything they stood for, was giving God praise. Why? God displayed awesome power through those teenagers so other people would be changed.
That’s what God is going to do for you. You can try to convince some people about your faith, debate with them, but words don’t always affect people. He’s going to open doors you can’t open, thrust you to new levels, and cause you to overcome what looks impossible so they will know the Lord is on your side. God is not going to do this all in private. He’s going to give you a public sign, something so amazing that people notice. As with Nebuchadnezzar, they will want what you have. Every morning, get up and say, “God, display Your awesome power through me today.”
Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that when the challenges I face look bigger, stronger, and more powerful than I can handle, You will show out with Your power so others will know that You are God. Thank You that You are on my side. Display Your power through me today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Integrity Tests
Today’s Scripture
Proverbs 10:9
Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.
Today’s Word
Integrity is the foundation that a successful life is built on. You can have talent, determination, and vision, but without integrity you won’t reach your full potential. Too often we’re letting small compromises of our integrity keep us from the big things God has in store. A person of integrity does the right thing and gives his best whether or not anyone else is watching. You don’t call in sick and then go shopping for the day. You don’t come in late and leave early because others do it. You don’t buy things you can’t pay for. You don’t fudge on your taxes.
We can’t deceive people, tell half-truths, not keep our word, and expect God to bless us. Take it as a challenge that God is watching to see when He can promote you. He’s waiting for you to pass these tests of integrity so He can take you higher. Have integrity in your finances, in your relationships, in how you treat people, in what you watch, and you’ll walk securely into your destiny.
Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for challenging me to make sure that integrity is the foundation of my life. Show me if there is anything I’m doing that is keeping me from being my best. I want to walk securely before You, and I believe that You have the power to bring me up higher. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
