Sermon on the Mount

Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them. Matthew 5:1‭-‬2

Read Matthew 5-7 with us today. There is much here. Much depth. Much profound teaching. These things are teachings of the New Covenant. These things are hidden from the wise of this world yet revealed to little children.

Is JESUS addressing these things to everyone or only to His followers?

Are these teachings for God’s children only or for all people?

Can all who hear these words become God’s children if they receive these words or can people only receive these words if they are God’s children?

Share your insights and any questions by commenting with your thoughts below. Let us encourage and exhort each other in these things as long as it is called today.

Flame of God

From prayer that asks that I may be
Sheltered from winds that beat on Thee,
From fearing when I should aspire,
From faltering when I should climb higher—
From silken self, O Captain, free
Thy soldier who would follow Thee.

From subtle love of softening things,
From easy choices, weakenings,
(Not thus are spirits fortified,
Not this way went the Crucified.)
From all that dims Thy Calvary,
O Lamb of God, deliver me.

Give me the love that leads the way,
The faith that nothing can dismay,
The hope no disappointments tire,
The passion that will burn like fire;
Let me not sink to be a clod—
Make me Thy fuel, Flame of God!

Mount Seir

In contrast to the standard Islamic narrative (SIN), there was nothing at all in modern day Mecca during the supposed lifetime of Md, who the narrative says died in AD 632; nothing was there before 70AH (AD 692).

In contrast, the actual place of his life was modern day Petra which is the historic place known even biblically as Mount Seir.

The historic place where Islam originated is Mount Seir, now known as Petra, located in the region of Seir.*

Prophecy Against Mount Seir

The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir; prophesy against it and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you and make you a desolate waste. I will turn your towns into ruins and you will be desolate. Then you will know that I am the Lord. “ ‘Because you harbored an ancient hostility and delivered the Israelites over to the sword at the time of their calamity, the time their punishment reached its climax, therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I will give you over to bloodshed and it will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you. I will make Mount Seir a desolate waste and cut off from it all who come and go. I will fill your mountains with the slain; those killed by the sword will fall on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines. I will make you desolate forever; your towns will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the Lord. “ ‘Because you have said, “These two nations and countries will be ours and we will take possession of them,” even though I the Lord was there, therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I will treat you in accordance with the anger and jealousy you showed in your hatred of them and I will make myself known among them when I judge you. Then you will know that I the Lord have heard all the contemptible things you have said against the mountains of Israel. You said, “They have been laid waste and have been given over to us to devour.” You boasted against me and spoke against me without restraint, and I heard it. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. Because you rejoiced when the inheritance of Israel became desolate, that is how I will treat you. You will be desolate, Mount Seir, you and all of Edom. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’ ”

Sinai

He said: “The Lord came from Sinai and dawned over them from Seir; he shone forth from Mount Paran. He came with myriads of holy ones from the south, from his mountain slopes. Deuteronomy 33:2

The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands; the Lord has come from Sinai into his sanctuary. Psalms 68:17

God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth. Habakkuk 3:3

You who have received the law that was given through angels but have not obeyed it.” Acts 7:53

Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. The law was given through angels and entrusted to a mediator. Galatians 3:19

But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly. Hebrews 12:22

I am Ascending

[Jesus ascended to the Father after seeing Magdala and then appeared again on the Emmaus Rd.]

Sequence of Events

Mother, Magdala & Salome went to the tomb and the stone was rolled away and the tomb was empty.

They fled the tomb, and Magdala ran to tell the disciples.

Simon ran. John ran.
John passed Simon and went first into the tomb.

Outside, Magdala saw Jesus, and went again to tell the disciples what He said.

None of the others saw Him.

Later, Jesus appeared to Cleopas and the other brother on Emaus Rd.

No one else saw Him all day.
That evening he appeared to the 10 disciples.

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid. [When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either. Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.] Mark 16:1‭-‬2‭, ‬8‭-‬9‭, ‬12‭-‬14

Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!” So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.
John 20:1‭-‬4

Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ” Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.
John 20:17‭-‬18

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
John 20:19‭-‬20‭, ‬26‭-‬27

Look Deeply

Here is your mission should you choose to accept it:

Join with me coming to some important yet profound and widely misunderstood and or poorly understood passages. Would you join with me actually reading these passages closely and carefully in order to understand more clearly exactly what and all that we can learn from these passages. Would you join me by intentionally and carefully laying down any preconceived ideas and any careless or hasty reading in order to look more closely and deeply into these passages together so we can all come away together with a clear understanding of all that JESUS is teaching us in these and all the related passages. After you have done all this, please share below what the LORD is doing in your heart and life by His powerful and transforming WORD.

Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ Matthew 7:23

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” Luke 6:46

All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. John 6:37

“Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.”

“Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us. Mark 9:38‭-‬40

“Master,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us.”

“Do not stop him,” Jesus said, “for whoever is not against you is for you.” Luke 9:49‭-‬50

_____

Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see. All the people were astonished and said, “Could this be the Son of David?” But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons.” Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. “Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house. “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 12:22‭-‬37

There is SO MUCH here. Look deeply, and listen closely, and obey fully.

Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called science. 1 Timothy 6:20‭

Pseudo-science: false knowledge

Share the message of Jesus every today with a coworker, a university student, anyone you encounter.

Be prepared to expose false knowledge–which is only religious atheistic naturalism, theorizing, speculation and pseudo-science–as dangerous distraction, and present the Truth at every step.

Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have departed from the faith. Grace be with you all. 1 Timothy 6:20‭-‬21

Question

Did Adam write?

Sumerians used cuneiform tokens and accounting by 3400 BC.

It seems apparent that there are 3 basic forms of material evidence for the facts of human history. These are genetic, archeologic & documentary. Archeological material evidence for human history includes skeletal, structural & artifact remains. Genetic & document evidence are their own categories.

Lomekwi artifacts are said to be 3.3 million years old.

This calls into question dating methods including the familiar radiocarbon dating.

The foolish & blind faith leaps of atheistic naturalism make a mockery of sound reason when compared with the grounded & evidence based faith of what is accurately called knowledge.

Turn away from such foolishness.

Saint or Sinner

WTW 2022
11 April
I’m a New Creation

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. John 3:6

Are we sinners or saints?

Read the WORD, and humbly accept the imperishable message of the Kingdom of light which is planted in you.

_

I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Romans 7:21‭-‬25

_

But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Galatians 2:17‭-‬21

_

Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart. For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you. 1 Peter 1:22‭-‬25

_

Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:16‭-‬22

_

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. 1 John 3:7‭-‬10

_

“Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” Then he left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.” He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. Matthew 13:18‭-‬19‭, ‬23‭, ‬36‭-‬39

Welcome or Not

The Great Divide

In regard to fellowship and association, the great divide is between what message and what people are received

On the one hand
“He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:11‭-‬12

On the other hand
“If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work.” 2 John 1:10‭-‬11

“Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.” Matthew 10:40‭-‬42

Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” John 20:21‭-‬23
