Don’t Complain

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. Friends, we live in a miracle.

It’s like this

You live in a home with a family where you have people who take care of you, provide you with everything, feed you, change your diaper, do all sorts of amazing things for you, take you on trips, give you gifts, love you, teach you, show you the Way of Life, hug you, kiss you, tell you that they love you, give you toys, fix your broken toys.

And you complain.

God gives you life itself and does all these things and more. He creates the very life you live, and because He leaves opportunities for you to problem solve and things for you to learn and fix, leaves spiritual wild animals around for you to learn spiritual warfare, leaves other tiny things around for you to develop systems and discover tiny glimpses into His laws and His order, His systems and ways and methods, instead of recognizing you live in His world with His life He put in the body He created for you.

You complain.

…

Don’t complain.

Love Him, thank Him, honor Him

Praise Him, glorify Him, worship Him.

Problem solve with the wisdom He gives you.

Don’t complain.

Don’t complain about anything.

Instead tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank Him for His answers.

As a matter of fact

The LORD is my poimen

I have no need.

He shall supply all your NEED

According to His riches in glory

So thank Him for everything

Not only His answers

Thank Him for life itself

He didn’t have to do it

But I, for one, am glad He did

And after you thank Him.

Stop complaining to others

Especially those who changed your diaper and nursed you.

Stop it.

Just stop it.

Stop the complaining, period.

Give thanks, with a grateful heart.

Offense

A brother wronged is more unyielding than a fortified city; disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel.
Proverbs 18:19

A dear brother mentioned yesterday an idea I first heard 30 years ago as a young person from a year surrounded by powerful ministry in the midst of great challenges. Tithing prayer. Brother Bill would tithe his day in prayer spending over two hours each day in concentrated prayer.

Reflecting on a relationship with a different brother now so offended that no word can pass without great offense rising. It is as with a wound so festered that the minutest touch causes immediate oozing and outbursts of volatile anger.

This reminder from this other dear brother yesterday is of the necessity of prayer and action and seasons of no other words for any so offended.

God have mercy on me and grant that I may walk in your favor and have peace on earth, good will toward men.

Truth

Truth must be important to you. You say things like “this is my truth,” [or] “truth is what you make it to be,” [like] “truth is what you want it to be,” [and] “what is your truth?”

When Jesus faced Pontius Pilate after being arrested, He said that the reason He came to earth and was born was to testify to the truth. He also said that everyone who is committed to the truth listens to Him. To that Pilate asked, “What is truth?”

Jesus knew truth; He knew what was really going on in the world and what the answers to life’s biggest questions were. He came to address those, to set the record straight. In that sense, He is truth; He is the answer. So to discover truth, we must be willing to hear Him out. We have to be interested in hearing the truth, no matter what it is.

Think about it. Truth can’t be relative. By definition, if it varies from one point of view to another, it can’t be truth. That’s at best an aspect of truth, an angle on reality. It could be close to reality or it could be way off. We’re like ants on the ground trying to make sense of a gigantic world from our limited perspective. We start filling in the blanks and inventing theories about how things must work, what’s important and how to live.

God wants us to discover the truth. He also wants us to find Him, even though He’s not far from each one of us. We’re His children; we were made in His image. These are the reasons He sent Jesus. But we shouldn’t think that this makes us independent of God. No, we actually exist because of Him. God is willing to overlook our ignorance in coming up with our own truth and blazing our own trails. He’s telling all of us to hear the truth and change our minds, to turn away from what we’ve busied ourselves with and pay attention to how He designed things to be. One day He’s going to have Jesus evaluate the state of the world, namely our attitudes and response to Him. How will you fare in that assessment?

White Hot Pure Gold

Here is a piece of white hot pure gold from powerful meetings and in depth conversation last night:

“Marriage to another while a former spouse is living is never God’s very best.”

There is much to be said about this refined hot white gold, both its substance and its refining process. There is much also to be said about those who were once for all entrusted with these trustworthy and reliable truths.

You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.

Evening Devotion

It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring. Romans 9:6‭-‬8

The old covenant is obsolete.
God’s people have always been those who are in covenant with Him. When the old covenant was replaced with the new covenant in Jesus blood, there no longer remained a place for any people to come to God and find favor through the old obsolete covenant. Thus, those who are God’s people are no longer those according to the flesh. No longer is the earthly lineage of Jacob a designation of God’s people. Rather, those who are God’s children through the blood of Jesus are the chosen people.

When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it. Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either. Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen. About 2-3 years ago, I went to my optometrist to have my contact prescription updated. I was experiencing some fuzzy vision in my right eye so asked about increasing my prescription to compensate for it. He examined my eye and noticed that it had significant scar tissue on it. He said this usually occurs due to trauma or extended infection but since I have had neither I was puzzled. I asked if I could get laser surgery to correct it and to correct my less than 20/20 vision and he informed me that they would not touch an eye with this much scar tissue. The only solution he would offer was to purchase a single larger than normal contact that costs over $200. He told me this MIGHT correct the problem. Other than that he just suggested things I can do to keep it from getting worse. I left discouraged.

About 3 months ago, I was talking to the Lord about the fact that I have never personally experienced a miracle that cannot be explained as anything but from God. I felt I should begin to pray for my fuzzy eye, which had gotten progressively more fuzzy, would become clear again. I asked my children to pray as well as a few friends. I have many questions about healing…when does God heal? Why? Why does He heal sometimes and not others? Some people but not others?

This past Sunday I was at my church. During worship I opened my eyes and suddenly realized I could clearly see my pastor’s face with my right eye. I felt I must share with the body which I did.

Since that day, there have been moments doubts have entered, lies have overwhelmed, cloudiness seemed to come back…but today I see clearly without a cloud, without a fuzziness that was there. Thank you Lord for your faithful intervention.

Messiah Among Murderers

After this, Jesus went around in Galilee. He did not want to go about in Judea because the Jewish leaders there were looking for a way to kill him. “You are demon-possessed,” the crowd answered. “Who is trying to kill you?”
John 7:1‭, ‬20

Jesus was called demon possessed and in later times, He was even accused of being a sorcerer. These are things no one talks about. How many people read John 7 closely? Do you see how intense this chapter is?

Beyond even the intense dramatics of his conversion with Joseph & Mary’s sons, James, Josh & Jude, JESUS has no interest in the conventions of man and thoroughly upsets the established systems and programs.

As just one tiny side note, it is clear that JESUS would not have been permitted to do any miracles at most religious gatherings today, certainly not in any reformed groups.

LORD is YHVH first use in Genesis 2.

In 2 Samuel 7:18 LORD God should read Lord LORD as text says Adonai YHVH

Since LORD in all caps is actually YHVH, also written Yahweh

Lord LORD is Lord Yahweh

In Greek, kurios means lord

Lord, Lord appears again in the WORD.
