Saturday morning dose of WTW

Daily discipleship as we R.E.A.D. God’s WORD together is transformational.

Reading Isaiah together daily in this way, one chapter each day, is powerful.

I used to think immediately of Isaiah as a micro Bible with a sense of chapter 39 ending the old and 40 beginning the new. There are certainly still some things we can match up in this way.

Now it is clear that 53 marks a powerful breakthrough and unparalleled revelation of the new covenant leading forward into even more glorious revelations in 54 & 55 and beyond.

This thought came to mind this morning. Just a curiosity, it seems, yet intriguing all the same.

How did this breakthrough impact the life of the man Isaiah himself? Do we have any indications which synchronize the life of Isaiah with the revelations of Isaiah, the history of the man with the visions of the spirit, the experiences of the individual with the demonstrations of the eternal?

The breakthrough of the new covenant from the old, like a glorious butterfly from its cocoon of death continues to reverberate across the eternal ages.

Thank you LORD for this breakthrough and for all You continue to teach and show us through Yeshayahu.

Isaiah 54

“Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says Yahweh.

For your Maker is your husband—Yahweh of Armies is his name—the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. Yahweh will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit—a wife who married young, only to be rejected,” says your God. “For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says Yahweh your Redeemer.

“To me this is like the days of Noah, when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth. So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again. Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says Yahweh, who has compassion on you.

Isaiah 26

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Isaiah 26:3

As one untimely born, so this post is as one untimely posted. Looking back at posts to find the one from the day for Isaiah 26, I find that as sometimes occurs on days with minimal interaction from others, posts extend to other topics. This was no less the case on 26 February, and so there is no previous mention of this well known and powerful passage. Here, that is rectified.

So, nevertheless, this came powerfully to our attention yesterday in late conversation. A Brother was sharing back about a day in the past few weeks which, come to think of it, could very well have been that very day itself. As he shared yesterday, it was after a time in prayer together that day, the LORD granted him an uncommon, serene and peaceful sleep which is very rare for him. This struck him as directly related to our time in prayer together that day, and this is the testimony he shared just last night.

Immediately, as he shared, the verse above came into my heart. Not knowing at all where it was, I looked it up and found it to be from the chapter 26 days earlier: a day itself given to testimonies, as now so clearly seen. We proceeded to read fully half the chapter reflecting deeply together in the rest, the strength, the peace which is ours in Christ alone.

I can see them come running from the the distance to the edge of the lush, green hill, laughing and playing, brushing aside the thick, tall grass.

They are free now. Truly free. And great adventures await them. But first there will be journeys to the foothills, wading into the clear and cool mountain springs and babbling brooks. There will be an eternity for all the epic adventures and joys unspeakable. Joyous excursions into the blue forests. They are young again and full of joy. Full of life.

Magnificent birds fly overhead soaring on the powerful wind as creatures of all sorts can be seen milling and moving toward the edges of the valley below.

The children go running off again and their laughter echoes through the canyon of the ages.

I believe that would fall under teacher and sub gift of exhortation (Peter and Timothy).

Paul had at least 4 of the “top” 5 life-giftings, and a host of the “sub-gifts” (imparted, rather than career gifts).
