Isaiah 12
In that day you will say: “I will praise YOU, YAHWEH. Although YOU were angry with me, YOUR anger has turned away and YOU have comforted me. Surely EL IS MY YESHUA; I will trust and not be afraid for YAH YAHWEH is my strength and song, and HE has become MY YESHUA.” With joy you will draw water from the wells of YESHUA. In that day you will say: “Give praise to YAHWEH, proclaim HIS name; make known among the nations what HE has done, and proclaim that HIS name is exalted. Sing to YAHWEH, for HE has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the HOLY ONE OF YISRAEL among you.”
But after he had considered this, an angel of THE LORD appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from THE HOLY SPIRIT. She will give birth to a SON, and you are to give HIM THE NAME YESHUA, because HE will SAVE HIS people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what THE LORD had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a SON, and they will call HIM IMMANUEL” (which means “GOD with us”).
Matthew 1:20-23
In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, GOD sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! THE LORD is with you.” Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with GOD. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him YESHUA. He will be great and will be called the SON OF THE MOST HIGH. THE LORD GOD will give him the throne of HIS father David, and HE will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; HIS kingdom will never end.” “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “THE HOLY SPIRIT will come on you, and the power of THE MOST HIGH will overshadow you. So THE HOLY ONE to be born will be called THE SON OF GOD.
Luke 1:26-35
In anticipation of the upcoming “day”, the people are told how they will react.
They give thanks, acknowledging God’s anger being replaced by comfort. This is not because God cooled off and had time to think differently about their behavior, but because of Jesus blazing a trail for us back to God (similar to the picture in 11:16).
He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.
John 3:36
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
Romans 5:1
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
Psalm 2:12
Sing praise to the Lord , you His godly ones, and give thanks to His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning.
Psalms 30:4-5
We see in 12:2 a growing confidence in God, not only what He did, but now as one to trust, the source of strength and joy, the continuing arm of salvation.
Vs 3 reminds me of Jesus telling the woman at the well that if she knew who He was, she’d be asking Him for a drink.
And I love the ending: “great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.” Again, Immanuel, God with us!

Yes, so good, Rollin!
Thank you for those powerful reflections.

“I want to stimulate more to wholesome thinking and digging and walking in the word…to grow and mature beyond the sermon culture and mentality alone.”
BT said:
“I found it interesting that in the KJV it says wells of salvation and your version says wells of Yashua.”
RD replied:
“…the need is great for [koinonia] in person…
Salvation is literally the name Jesus so it’s simply just in a different language:
English is salvation
Dutch is heil
Hindi is moksha
Greek is sotiria
Hebrew is yeshua
Greek version of yeshua is Iesous
Latin of Iesous is Iesus
English of Iesus is of course JESUS
I think exactly the question you asked and this type of inquiry itself is precisely what can be useful to others as well and me.
To look at the scriptures afresh and exhort each other to stay in line with the WORD and come to Jesus the WORD.
So I have a brother ready to join a group. I’m guessing he may be expecting a bigger group and maybe a highly structured 4 course meal plan.
I prefer hunter gatherer style.
Thoughts?”
BT replied:
“I agree, in person is best.
Thank you for the feedback about Yeshua.
I have to smile about your last comment. Who has time to provide 4 course meal (I think that’s what you mean by sermon culture.)
As a people we’ve been taught in our schools not to think for ourselves and have grown content to let others tell us how to think. Hunter gatherer style might cause a headache but that would be the most beneficial.”
