Look Deeply

Here is your mission should you choose to accept it:

Join with me coming to some important yet profound and widely misunderstood and or poorly understood passages. Would you join with me actually reading these passages closely and carefully in order to understand more clearly exactly what and all that we can learn from these passages. Would you join me by intentionally and carefully laying down any preconceived ideas and any careless or hasty reading in order to look more closely and deeply into these passages together so we can all come away together with a clear understanding of all that JESUS is teaching us in these and all the related passages. After you have done all this, please share below what the LORD is doing in your heart and life by His powerful and transforming WORD.

Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ Matthew 7:23

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” Luke 6:46

All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. John 6:37

“Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.”

“Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us. Mark 9:38‭-‬40

“Master,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us.”

“Do not stop him,” Jesus said, “for whoever is not against you is for you.” Luke 9:49‭-‬50

Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see. All the people were astonished and said, “Could this be the Son of David?” But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons.” Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. “Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house. “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 12:22‭-‬37

There is SO MUCH here. Look deeply, and listen closely, and obey fully.

  1. Whoever is not with me is against me Mt12:30

Whoever is not against us is for us Mk9:40

Both are in the context of driving out demons

In the Matthew passage, JESUS was driving out demons and being accused of himself doing so by demonic power.

In the Mark passage, John told JESUS they tried to stop someone else from driving out a demon and JESUS said not to stop him.

Both statements have the common goal of not prohibiting the driving out of demons. Do not hinder anyone from doing God’s work, period.

In fact, to label someone driving out demons as demonic is extremely dangerous. This is because in fact it is only by the power of God’s Holy Spirit that anyone can have authority to drive out a demon. So to prohibit this, and to call such demonic who are doing God’s work is to oppose most directly God’s work by His Holy Spirit. And even more dangerous, to blaspheme the Holy Spirit is to do the unforgivable.

  2. Read the entire chapter of Matthew 12, and earlier you will see an extremely important point in the entire matter

Learn the meaning of the scripture:
    I desire mercy, not sacrifice.

    This message is central:
    God desires, yes requires mercy

Do not think that mercy is weak.
Only the strong, have the power to show mercy. It is the strong who have power and who do not show mercy and refuse to change whom YHVH Almighty, Shaddai of Heavenly Armies opposes with the full fury of His all powerful vengeance.

As He has shown you mercy
    So you will show mercy

Or you will find yourself in direct opposition to the Almighty Himself

    I adjure you therefore
    By the mercies of God
    Be merciful
    As you have received mercy
    Show mercy
