Sweet Dreams

“At this I awoke and looked around. My sleep had been pleasant to me.” Jeremiah 31:26

As though it were real…a 3 story wooden shanty full of peace and a day spent with dear friends and family. Rushing up to the patchwork wooden landing which was the 2nd story, glancing out the tiny window at the small line bus before scurrying up the narrow wooden steps up to the belfry before heading back down. Greeting Josh & Yvette on the way back to catch the bus with mom, Brian, Rollin & Brent.

In between the 5 minute episodes of these sweet dreams, a brief waking to see in this real earthly reality a large buck nestled down in the neighbor’s yard across the back fence, still alert and looking around with dusty snow swirling all around…

JOY Club

I will always be moved deeply to the core whenever I read this verse because of the powerful season of ministry it covered and now represents for all time in my heart.

I delight greatly in YAHWEH; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe OF his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her JEWELS. Isaiah 61:10

Ask me here and I will share the story.

Get on your knees today, and ask Jesus how you can reach out to others and make a lasting impact on their lives and walk with God.

Micro Bible

WTW January 25-31
Isaiah 60-66

Isaiah has 66 chapters and so is often rightly considered as a sort of condensed presentation of the 66 books of the Bible. In this way, each chapter of Isaiah can be compared with and matched up to the corresponding book of the Bible. Doing this can reveal many noteworthy features of God’s WORD.

Following the daily reading plan for the end of this month, we find ourselves digging deeply in the final 7 chapters of Isaiah. These align with the final 7 books of the Bible. This in turn lends itself to a worthwhile consideration of looking at this relationship between these chapters of Isaiah and the parallel books of the Bible. Here is an overview for easy reference and for further consideration.

Isaiah 60 – 1 Peter
Isaiah 61 – 2 Peter
Isaiah 62 – 1 John
Isaiah 63 – 2 John
Isaiah 64 – 3 John
Isaiah 65 – Jude
Isaiah 66 – Revelation

Expectation & Reality

WTW January 25
Isaiah 60

“Foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings will serve you. Though in anger I struck you, in favor I will show you compassion.”

“The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end. Then all your people will be righteous and they will possess the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor. The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the Lord; in its time I will do this swiftly.”

Isaiah 60:10,19‭-‬22

Living Covenant Spouse

But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 1 Corinthians 5:11

Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the Lord hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant. Malachi 2:14

For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. Rom 7:2

For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Matthew 22:30

Moses & Jesus

There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun (y-sh-r-n same root ‘save’ as y-s-r-l and y-sh-a), who rideth upon the heaven in thy help (ezer: aid), and in his excellency (gaavah: exaltation) on the sky. The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them. Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew. Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved (same root as yeshua) by the Lord, the shield of thy help (ezer: aid), and who is the sword of thy excellency (gaavah: exaltation)! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places. Deuteronomy 33:26‭-‬29

Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest. He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house. Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself. For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. “Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house,” bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future. But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory. Hebrews 3:1‭-‬6

Moses was great.

Yoshua is the greatest.

It was another genuinely encouraging and profitable couple hours in the WORD with the brothers this morning.

There were so many powerful insights and discussions shared together, all launching from Romans 12. There is so much more to share and apply on all those topics from God’s WORD.

One thing, which sparked some specific discussion that has continued after the meeting, warrants some further attention. Here it is, noted below from one short message sent out after the meeting.

As always, our focus remains firmly on evangelism & discipleship with an eye at all times toward edification. Feel free to reply below and share further as you find it relates to mutual growth and edification.

I just did an open ended search and found one of the very top results to be someone I came across a couple years ago. At that time I watched a number of videos of his and gained great respect for him. He in turn references a site many of you know I myself have referred to frequently. I have gained a great respect for and agree with exactly his assessment on that also. All around, I find this to be an extraordinary and sound assessment.

Did You Know?

Look into it and you will see [J752]

The tribe of Levi was selected to be dedicated for service to Yahweh because at the counting, the tribe of Levi numbered closest of all 12 tribes to the number of all Israel fm. [N3]

And so also

Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you. When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel.
