Mission 2021

Followers love God, love JESUS, love His WORD, love, long for and eagerly look forward to walking daily in the WORD and in the SPIRIT, reading and engaging with each other and talking with others about JESUS and the New Life everywhere they go.

How can we encourage and cultivate this more and more among the saints?

We continue to follow the simple daily chapter format to maintain this simple guide. We also recognize the need for introducing specific topics in order to aid daily conversation and practical application launching at least initially from the daily chapter readings.

What is your spiritual gifting, and what is your God given life calling? We are to seek hard after the LORD in these things, and so these are conversations we need to engage immediately. Are you engaging these things today? Let’s get started now.

We know and are convinced that all who claim to live in JESUS are to walk as JESUS did. Among other things this includes prayer, evangelism and discipleship. It is very common to practice daily prayer and Bible reading. It is just as important to engage at the same time in regular evangelism and discipleship.

What are some specific ways we can help, encourage and support you in these areas in your personal daily walk? And also, what are some ways we can help and partner up with you and your local ministry in these areas of evangelism and discipleship. How can we support you in your personal walk, in devotions, in worship, in prayer, the WORD and the SPIRIT and also in small groups, home groups and home services?

Let us walk together and engage more in Mission 2021.

The WORD of Yahweh

In the last days the mountain of Yahweh’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and peoples will stream to it. Many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the WORD of Yahweh from Jerusalem. All the nations may walk in the name of their gods, but we will walk in the NAME of Yahweh our God for ever and ever. Micah 4:1‭-‬2‭, ‬5

Nigeria, America or Me?

Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets tell fortunes for money. Yet they look for the Lord’s support and say, “Is not the Lord among us? No disaster will come upon us.” Micah 3:11

This makes me think of Nigeria, of Suriname, of the timeless accepted ways of the Middle, the east, the African and of the third world countries, of the governments, the bribery cultures and the corruption ruling systems of South American cartel nations.

But could 3 fingers be pointing back at America or could 3 fingers be pointing back at me?

Here is the challenge

To hear and know and carry out the truth and the correct understanding and accurate message of God in our own lives. Then, to convey the appropriate, relevant, true and correct message to others in such a way as not to antagonize or stir up the evil heart but to destroy the works of the evil one and to release those who all their lives have been held captive and bound under some sort of spell of spiritual Stockholm Syndrome.

But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord , and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, to Israel his sin. Micah 3:8

Same Place, Different Time

Then the priests and the prophets said to the officials and all the people, “This man should be sentenced to death because he has prophesied against this city. You have heard it with your own ears!” Jeremiah 26:11

When the seven days were nearly over, some Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul at the temple. They stirred up the whole crowd and seized him, shouting, “Fellow Israelites, help us! This is the man who teaches everyone everywhere against our people and our law and this place. And besides, he has brought Greeks into the temple and defiled this holy place.” While they were trying to kill him, news reached the commander of the Roman troops that the whole city of Jerusalem was in an uproar. Acts 21:27‭-‬28‭, ‬31

The Moreshite Prophet

December 25, 2020
Micah the prophet

The priests, the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speak these words in the house of Yahweh. But as soon as Jeremiah finished telling all the people everything Yahweh had commanded him to say, the priests, the prophets and all the people seized him and said, “You must die! Some of the elders of the land stepped forward and said to the entire assembly of people, “Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. He told all the people of Judah, ‘This is what Yahweh of hosts says: “ ‘Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets.’ “Did Hezekiah king of Judah or anyone else in Judah put him to death? Did not Hezekiah fear Yahweh and seek his favor? And did not Yahweh relent, so that he did not bring the disaster he pronounced against them? We are about to bring a terrible disaster on ourselves!” Jeremiah 26:7‭-‬8‭, ‬17‭-‬19

The word of Yahweh that came to Micah of Moresheth during the reigns of Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah—the vision he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem. Hear, you peoples, all of you, listen, earth and all who live in it, that the Lord Yahweh may bear witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple. Micah 1:1‭-‬2

Herods, Pilates & Agrippas

It was another significant time together yesterday afternoon joining together with a good group of brothers for an engaging virtual meeting of WTW in Luke 23. We spent time getting to know each other for many who had not connected before and had a great time in the WORD and prayer together.

There are many things we discussed and prayed about together including E&D, the GC, marriage, family etc. In addition to the urgent message of JESUS in Luke 23 one brother powerfully connected to chapter 21, we also talked about a number of elements of WTW & Mission 2021 such as spiritual gifting, calling, intercession, growing in maturity, pressing forward, finding out what pleases the LORD and pursuing His purposes for each of us.

One WTW brother kicked off the discussion with a typically on target point that sparked the key initial conversation about how JESUS remained silent and never said a word to Herod. This was noted as a good reminder of how we should not engage in argument or in so much of the endless and exhausting chatter and divisive talk which has now saturated much of our digitally driven society.

A followup point noted that JESUS did answer Pilate and how that actually resulted in the record we have of that profound conversation detailed in the parallel passage in John 18 referenced with another WTW brother earlier in the day. There is a time to speak and a time not to speak. One mentioned wisdom, prudence, discernment, discretion & sound judgment, another urged caution in what things are confessed to whom and yet another mentioned the importance of speaking Truth and then letting Truth do His work.

Later, leading into our closing prayer time someone mentioned a third man, Agrippa and connected the topic of talk to these 3 men with a further application. Do we recognize when we come in contact with any Herods, Pilates & Agrippas in our encounters? This is something for us to consider and keep in mind in our daily lives, in our families, among our friends, colleagues, communities, networks, circles of engagement, E&D and conversations, both public and private.

LORD, teach us daily when and how to speak as speaking the WORD of God. Teach us when and how not to speak even as JESUS the Lamb of God remained silent when that pleased You, Father. LORD, may we be effective and productive in our knowledge of Your Kingdom for it is You O God Who work in us both to will and to do according to Your good pleasure.

JESUS, thank You again for Your WORD, for all the wisdom You show us in Your WORD and for allowing us to open up, walk in and live out this Wisdom in the WORD together with all these WTW followers daily walking with the King.

Amen.

The Reason For The Season

“You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I am KING. In fact, THE REASON I WAS BORN and came into the world is to testify (martyr) to the TRUTH. Everyone on the side of TRUTH listens to me.” John 18:37

While it is interesting and perhaps not incidental that the Greek word meaning testify is where we get our English word martyr, the original meaning did not include the sense of dying for a cause. Clearly, that is what happened, and that makes this passage tying the birth of JESUS to his death particularly intriguing. Indeed, the TRUTH of JESUS is the REAL & TRUE reason for the season!

Application:
Is it possible to testify to the TRUTH without dying for the TRUTH?

The LORD’s Supper
It was a particularly rewarding time tonight gathering with other followers in our virtual meeting of Wisdom in the WORD. In our first session, we read the opening passage of today’s WTW chapter, Luke 22. This led into a hearty discussion on the topic of how to rediscover even more of the full meaning and depths of the LORD’S supper. We also considered how families with children can and do celebrate the meal while remaining aware of the significance and power of the cup of the new covenant JESUS brought.

Even More Effective
In the second part of WTW tonight, we talked about how to continue in evangelism and discipleship including Mission 2021. We want to continue evaluating all our various current engagements in the WORD while exploring new ways to improve. It is our desire to be even more effective and to continue finding new ways to continue reaching even more people with more of the same transformational daily personal engagements in the WORD.

Mutual Edification
If you are reading this, would you consider continuing our WTW discussion from tonight by posting a reply comment below? We would love to hear even a short word from every single person who reads this. Whether you were able to join us tonight or not, there is an important thing we discovered and will all acknowledge. This is the fact that everyone of us who opens up, walks in and lives out God’s WORD has something valuable to contribute. When we each do this, we will unquestionably edify and encourage each other as we all continue daily to read, engage and apply Wisdom in the WORD. We look forward to hearing more from each of you about what the LORD is doing in your heart and life through His WORD.
